In all seriousness

It's one of those things almost everyone does at one point or other. They forget why it is that we celebrate Christmas.

And if you you think it's just because of Jesus's birth, you are wrong.

It's because of his death and resurrection.

See him being born was in all reality just a start, everything he did after was far more important than his birth till finally, he did the most important part of all: He died for our sins, and resurrected, therefore conquering death, and freeing all who accept his gift.

So this year I want you to really think about it. Why we celebrate his birth is because of his Death. without his death and Resurrection, this holiday would be completely pointless.

  1. When I first read this I was going to comment and argue about it. But thinking about it, Christmas really is about Jesus's death. Its not wrong to celebrate his birth, but it is about his Death. He's was born to die for us.

    O come, O come, Emmanuel
    And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
    Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

    Blessings,

  2. Reminds me of the song "It's About The Cross" by Go Fish. Ever heard it?
